Clarification of misconceptions regarding size as many people think that mini means that retrievers can be shrunk down below 25 pounds and below 14 inches which they cannot they are a medium compact breed the smallest they can go as a female is 30 pounds and 16 inches provided they came from a very large litter and they are very petite in structure at birth. typically our 12th generation to 14th generations range now from 18 to 19 inches in height to 45 pounds male and female depending on activity of our families. Sport retrievers are as active as our families or as couch potato.

Intellectually sport retrievers are similar to children and comprehend over 10K words so if you do not speak full sentences, you will find training difficult without talking concisely to a 3 year old child.
